Bill Aitken (politician)

Bill Aitken (born July 1, 1947) is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist politician. He served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Glasgow region from 1999 to 2011.

Aitken was educated at Kelvinside Academy, Glasgow. Prior to entering politics, he worked in the insurance industry.

In the Scottish Parliament, Aitken served on various committees, including the Justice Committee and the Public Petitions Committee. He was also a prominent spokesperson for the Scottish Conservative party on issues such as justice and local government. Aitken was known for his robust debating style and his strong advocacy for traditional Conservative values. He did not seek re-election in 2011.
