Beartooth (band)

Beartooth is an American hardcore punk band formed in Columbus, Ohio, in 2012 by Caleb Shomo. The band is known for its blend of hardcore punk, metalcore, and occasionally nu-metal elements, creating a sound often characterized by aggressive instrumentation, dual vocals (clean and unclean), and introspective lyrics dealing with themes of mental health, addiction, and overcoming personal struggles.

History:

Beartooth initially began as a solo project for Shomo, who wrote and recorded all instruments on the band's first EP, Sick, released in 2013. Following the EP's release and positive reception, Shomo recruited a full band to perform live. The lineup has seen several changes over the years, but Shomo has remained the consistent frontman and principal songwriter.

The band signed with Red Bull Records and released their debut studio album, Disgusting, in 2014. The album solidified their position in the metalcore scene and gained them widespread recognition. Their subsequent albums, Aggressive (2016), Disease (2018), Below (2021), and The Surface (2024), further explored their signature sound while experimenting with different sonic textures and lyrical themes.

Beartooth's music is often described as a blend of various subgenres within heavy music. Their core sound is rooted in hardcore punk, characterized by fast tempos, aggressive riffs, and raw energy.
