Barry Cooper (author)

Barry Cooper is a Canadian political theorist and professor of political science at the University of Calgary. He is known for his work on political philosophy, particularly on the thought of Friedrich Nietzsche, Leo Strauss, and Eric Voegelin. His research interests also include technology, energy policy, and Canadian politics.

Cooper received his Ph.D. from Duke University. He has written and edited numerous books and articles, including "The End of History: An Essay on Modern Hegelianism," "Action into Nature: An Essay on Technology, Judgment, and Politics," "New Political Religions, or an Analysis of Modern Terrorism," and "Paleo-Conservatism: The Danger of Nostalgia." His work often engages with critical perspectives on modernity and its intellectual foundations. He has been the subject of controversy due to his writings and public statements on various topics.
