Balinghem
Balinghem is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France.
It is located near Calais and Guînes. The commune is primarily agricultural.
Historically, Balinghem is significant as the location of the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520. This meeting between King Henry VIII of England and King Francis I of France was a major diplomatic event aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries. The event took place in the valley between Balinghem and Ardres, close to Guînes, which was then an English possession.
