Modern Warfare (band)

Modern Warfare was an American thrash metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1985. They were part of the vibrant Los Angeles metal scene of the mid-to-late 1980s. The band was known for their aggressive sound, incorporating elements of speed metal and crossover thrash into their music.

Modern Warfare released a single full-length album, Erase the Past, in 1988 on New Renaissance Records. The album received moderate attention within the thrash metal community but did not achieve mainstream success. They also contributed tracks to various metal compilation albums during their active years.

The band’s lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist, John Cyriis (also known for his later work with Agent Steel), guitarist, Bernie Versailles, bassist, Kurt Kilfelt, and drummer, Chuck Profus.

Modern Warfare disbanded in the early 1990s. While they remained a relatively obscure band, their album Erase the Past has gained a cult following among some thrash metal enthusiasts. Members of the band went on to pursue other musical projects, most notably John Cyriis's continued involvement in the metal scene.
