Azura (religious figure)
Azura is a Daedric Prince in the Elder Scrolls series of video games. Known by several titles, including Queen of Dawn and Dusk, Mother of the Rose, and Queen of the Night Sky, she is a powerful Daedric Prince whose sphere of influence concerns dusk and dawn, magic, fate and prophecy. She is associated with beauty, vanity, and mysticism.
Worship of Azura is widespread among the Dunmer (Dark Elves) of Morrowind, where she is considered one of the "Good Daedra," a group of Daedric Princes who are believed to have helped shape the Dunmer race and guide their destiny. She is particularly revered as the guardian of the Dunmer, having transformed them from the Chimer after the Battle of Red Mountain.
Azura's realm of Oblivion is called Moonshadow, a beautiful and magical place described as a land of twilight forests and shimmering cities. She communicates with her followers through visions and dreams, and her will is often interpreted by priests and seers.
Azura's artifacts include Azura's Star, a powerful soul gem, and Azura's Rose, a Daedric artifact that can summon a Dremora. These items are often sought after by adventurers and mages.
Azura plays a significant role in several quests throughout the Elder Scrolls series, often requiring the player to make choices that align with her ideals or defy her will. Her presence adds a layer of complex morality to the game's lore, as her actions, while seemingly benevolent to her followers, can have unforeseen consequences.
