Aurora (2018 Filipino film)
Aurora is a 2018 Filipino horror thriller film directed by Yam Laranas and starring Anne Curtis. The film tells the story of a woman named Leana (Anne Curtis) and her younger sister Rita (Phoebe Villamor) who live in a coastal town. After a passenger ship, the Aurora, sinks near their town, Leana and Rita are offered a large sum of money to find the dead bodies of the missing passengers, as their inn is located closest to the wreckage.
As Leana searches for the bodies, she begins to experience supernatural encounters and visions. The film explores themes of grief, guilt, and the burden of responsibility, as Leana grapples with the emotional toll of the recovery operation and the increasingly disturbing events that unfold.
Aurora was produced by Viva Films and Aliud Entertainment. It premiered at the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for its visual effects, sound design, and Anne Curtis's performance.
