Atheis (film)
Atheis is a 1974 Indonesian drama film directed by Sjuman Djaya. The film is an adaptation of the 1949 novel of the same name by Achdiat K. Mihardja. Set during the Indonesian National Revolution, Atheis explores themes of faith, existentialism, and the clash between traditional values and modern ideologies through the story of Hasan, a devout Muslim man who is confronted by secular and communist influences, ultimately leading him to question his religious beliefs. The film stars Deddy Sutomo, Marlissa, and Kusno Sudjarwadi.
