Aptera (Lycia)

Aptera was an ancient city located in Lycia, in what is now southwestern Turkey. It was situated near the mouth of the Achaean Gulf (modern Antalya Gulf), though not directly on the coast. Its exact location is believed to be near the modern village of Seyret, Antalya Province.

Historically, Aptera existed during the Roman and Byzantine periods. Relatively little is known about its specific history and significance compared to other Lycian cities like Xanthos or Patara.
