Anthony Mancini (bishop)
Anthony Mancini (born August 27, 1907, Tricarico, Italy; died May 19, 1991) was an Italian-born Canadian Roman Catholic bishop. He served as Auxiliary Bishop of Montreal from 1957 to 1969 and Bishop of London, Ontario from 1969 to 1978.
Mancini was ordained a priest on June 11, 1933. He was appointed Titular Bishop of Hierapolis and Auxiliary Bishop of Montreal on November 29, 1957, and consecrated on January 8, 1958, by Cardinal Paul-Émile Léger. He was appointed Bishop of London, Ontario, on May 7, 1969, and served in that role until his retirement on September 27, 1978.
During his time as bishop, Mancini played a role in implementing the reforms of the Second Vatican Council within the dioceses he served. He focused on areas such as liturgical renewal, ecumenical dialogue, and social justice.
