Antenor (writer)
Antenor was a Greek writer of uncertain date and period. He is primarily known for authoring a history of Crete. The Suda, a 10th-century Byzantine encyclopedia, mentions him as a writer of Cretan history. Unfortunately, no fragments or substantial extracts of this history survive. Consequently, very little is definitively known about Antenor, his life, or the specific content and perspective of his historical work. He remains a figure of scholarly interest primarily due to the Suda's reference, highlighting the potential loss of information about ancient Crete. The lack of surviving text makes it impossible to assess the accuracy or scope of his historical writing.
