Larry Johnson (basketball, born 1954)

Larry Johnson (born September 13, 1954) is a retired American professional basketball player. A 6'3" guard, Johnson played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for four seasons, from 1977 to 1981.

Johnson was selected by the Buffalo Braves in the third round (66th overall) of the 1976 NBA draft. He played for the Braves (who became the San Diego Clippers during his tenure), the Washington Bullets, and the San Antonio Spurs. His career statistics include averaging 5.3 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 rebounds per game.

Prior to his NBA career, Johnson played college basketball at Kentucky State University. He was known for his scoring ability and tenacious defense. He remains involved in basketball through youth development programs.
