Anna Zerr
Anna Zerr (1882-1949) was a German operatic soprano. She was known for her performances in both dramatic and coloratura roles, particularly in the operas of Richard Strauss and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Zerr began her career in operetta before transitioning to opera. She sang extensively in European opera houses, including those in Berlin, Dresden, and Vienna. Her repertoire included roles such as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Zerbinetta in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, and Sophie in Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. She was lauded for her vocal agility, accurate intonation, and dramatic interpretation. She retired from the stage in the 1930s.
