Key Club
Key Club International is an international service organization for high school students. It is a student-led organization whose goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. As one of the oldest and largest service programs for high school students, Key Club has clubs in over 38 countries.
Key Club is a part of the Kiwanis International family of service clubs. The name "Key Club" is rumored to have originated from the idea that Key Club is the "key" to a successful high school.
Key Club projects and activities are generally divided into four main service areas: service to school, service to community, service to Key Club, and service to Kiwanis. Clubs participate in a wide range of volunteer activities, fundraising events, and leadership development opportunities. Examples of activities include volunteering at local food banks, organizing blood drives, fundraising for charitable organizations, and participating in environmental cleanup projects.
Key Club International is governed by a board of trustees comprised of elected student leaders. Each district within Key Club also has its own elected officers and board members. The organization provides numerous leadership training programs and resources for its members. The organization's motto is "Caring—Our Way of Life."
