Angel Dust (German band)
Angel Dust was a German speed metal band formed in Dortmund in 1984. The band initially consisted of Frank Albert, Andreas Lohse, Dirk Assmuth, and Stefan K. Stefan. They were a notable part of the German speed metal scene in the mid-to-late 1980s.
Angel Dust released two full-length albums: Into the Dark Past (1986) and To Dust You Will Decay (1988). Into the Dark Past is generally considered their breakthrough album, showcasing their blend of melodic speed metal with thrash influences. To Dust You Will Decay continued in a similar vein, further solidifying their sound.
Despite gaining a following in the European metal scene, Angel Dust disbanded in 1990. However, the name was later revived by guitarist/keyboardist Steven Banx for a new project, though it shared no musical connection to the original band.
The original Angel Dust is primarily remembered for their contributions to the early German speed metal movement and for their two well-regarded albums.
