Alfa Lum

Alfa Lum was an Italian professional cycling team that existed from 1982 to 1991. The team was named after its primary sponsor, Alfa Lum, an Italian manufacturer of lighting and electrical components.

Alfa Lum competed in major European cycling events, including the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a España. While the team didn't achieve consistent Grand Tour victories, they secured numerous stage wins and other significant results.

Notable riders who competed for Alfa Lum included Moreno Argentin, who achieved considerable success in one-day classics and stage races, and Gianni Bugno, prior to his later successes with other teams. The team played a significant role in the development of several professional cyclists during its decade-long existence.

Following the 1991 season, Alfa Lum withdrew their sponsorship, and the team ceased operations. While the name is no longer associated with a cycling team, its legacy remains part of the history of professional cycling in the 1980s and early 1990s.
