Alan Tate

Alan Tate (born September 2, 1982) is a Welsh former professional footballer who primarily played as a defender.

Tate began his professional career with Manchester United, although he never made a first-team appearance for them. He moved to Swansea City on loan in 2002 and subsequently joined the club permanently in 2004. He became a key player for Swansea, contributing to their rise from League Two to the Premier League.

During his time at Swansea, Tate became known for his versatility, leadership qualities, and commitment to the club. He captained the team and was a popular figure among the supporters. He played a significant role in Swansea's League Cup victory in 2013, their first major trophy.

Beyond Swansea City, Tate had loan spells at various clubs including Hull City, Leeds United, Yeovil Town, and Port Vale. He retired from professional football in 2018.
