Alan Tait (Australian footballer)

Alan Tait is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy and the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian Football League (VFL)/Australian Football League (AFL).

Tait, originally from North Hobart, played for Tasmania in the 1986 State of Origin series. A key position player, he joined Fitzroy in 1987 and made 13 appearances in his debut season. He remained with the club for a further two seasons, playing 19 games in 1988 and 11 in 1989.

In 1990, Tait was recruited by the Brisbane Bears. He played a single game for the Bears, in round 21 against Geelong at Kardinia Park. He then returned to Tasmania and continued his football career.
