Alan Gilbert (American academic)
Alan Gilbert (born 1943) is an American political philosopher and academic. He is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Denver, where he taught from 1969 until his retirement.
Gilbert received his B.A. from Harvard University and his Ph.D. from Harvard University. His work spans a range of topics within political theory, including Marxism, democratic theory, nationalism, human rights, and international relations. He is particularly known for his work on justice, freedom, and the ethical dimensions of political life.
