58th Street station (BMT Fifth Avenue Line)
The 58th Street station was a local station on the BMT Fifth Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. It was located at the intersection of 58th Street and Fifth Avenue. The station was served by the BMT Fifth Avenue Line trains.
The Fifth Avenue Line was an elevated railway line that operated from 1888 to 1940. The 58th Street station, along with the rest of the line, was closed on May 31, 1940, and subsequently demolished. The closure was part of a broader effort to remove elevated railway lines from Brooklyn, which were seen as noisy, unsightly, and detrimental to property values. There is no trace of the station remaining today. The station provided local service and did not offer express train stops.
