34th Division (German Empire)
The 34th Division (34. Division) was a unit of the Prussian Army, and part of the German Army during World War I. It was formed in March 1916 and dissolved in 1919. The division was primarily composed of troops from the Alsace-Lorraine region.
The division participated in battles on the Western Front throughout its existence. It saw action in the Battle of the Somme, the Second Battle of the Aisne, and the Battle of Passchendaele. The division also participated in the German spring offensive of 1918.
After the armistice, the 34th Division returned to Germany and was demobilized.
