152nd Infantry Division (France)
The 152nd Infantry Division was a French infantry division that served during World War I and World War II.
World War I:
The division was formed in 1915 and consisted primarily of reserve units. It participated in several battles on the Western Front, including engagements in the Champagne region. It was dissolved after the Armistice in 1918.
World War II:
The 152nd Infantry Division was reformed as a Class B reserve division prior to the outbreak of World War II. It was mobilized in 1939 and assigned to the Maginot Line, specifically the sector around the Lauter River. During the Battle of France in 1940, the division saw action defending its sector. After the French surrender, the division was disbanded. The division's performance was hampered by its composition of reserve troops and the static nature of its deployment along the Maginot Line.
