Yuan Ye (footballer)

Yuan Ye (born January 23, 1979) is a former Chinese professional footballer. He played primarily as a defender.

Career

Yuan Ye began his football career with Bayi FC in 1999, establishing himself within the team despite its limited success within the Chinese Jia-A League. When Bayi FC was dissolved in 2003, he joined Shanghai Shenhua. He was a squad player for several seasons at Shanghai Shenhua before eventually joining Shanghai United in 2007. Following the merger of Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai United in 2007, Yuan Ye was released. He subsequently played for a number of lower league teams before retiring.

Honours

While playing for Shanghai Shenhua, Yuan Ye was part of the squad that won the Chinese Super League title in 2003 (later revoked).
