Wychavon
Wychavon is a local government district in Worcestershire, England. It is named after the Droitwich salt workings (wych being an Old English word for brine spring or salt well). The district council is based in Pershore.
The district was formed on April 1, 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, through a merger of the boroughs of Droitwich and Evesham, along with Evesham Rural District, most of Pershore Rural District, and part of Upton upon Severn Rural District.
Wychavon is primarily a rural district, with a significant agricultural sector. Key towns within the district include Droitwich Spa, Evesham, and Pershore. The River Avon flows through the area, and the landscape is characterized by rolling hills and fertile farmland.
The district council provides a range of services including waste collection, planning, housing, and environmental health.
