William Chapple (New Zealand politician)

William Chapple (born 1855, date of death unknown) was a New Zealand politician. He represented the Tuapeka electorate in the New Zealand House of Representatives from 1899 to 1902. He was a member of the Liberal Party.

Chapple was born in London and emigrated to New Zealand, settling in Otago. Before entering politics, he worked as a farmer. He was a prominent member of the local community and served on the Tuapeka County Council.

In the 1899 general election, Chapple defeated the incumbent Member of Parliament, James Bennet, to win the Tuapeka seat. During his term in Parliament, he was a supporter of the Liberal government's policies, including land reform and social welfare legislation.

He did not stand for re-election in the 1902 general election, and the Tuapeka seat was won by Walter Bennet. After leaving Parliament, Chapple returned to farming in Otago. Further details of his life after 1902 are scarce.
