Webensenu

Webensenu refers to a protective funerary deity in ancient Egyptian mythology. Specifically, Webensenu was one of the four sons of Horus, often depicted on canopic jars which were used to store the internal organs of the deceased during the mummification process. Each son of Horus was associated with a particular organ and protected by a specific goddess. Webensenu was usually depicted with a falcon's head and was responsible for guarding the intestines. His protector goddess was Serket. The role of Webensenu was crucial in ensuring the deceased's safe passage and rebirth in the afterlife by preserving and protecting a vital organ necessary for their continued existence. He, along with his brothers Imsety, Hapy, and Duamutef, were essential figures in the elaborate funerary rituals and beliefs of ancient Egypt.
