Warsaw Municipal Airport (Indiana)
Warsaw Municipal Airport (Indiana), also known as WRS, is a public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northwest of the central business district of Warsaw, a city in Kosciusko County, Indiana, United States. It is owned by the Warsaw Board of Aviation. The airport serves primarily general aviation traffic.
Facilities and Aircraft
Warsaw Municipal Airport covers an area of 500 acres (202 ha) at an elevation of 849 feet (259 m) above mean sea level. It has two asphalt paved runways: 9/27 is 5,200 by 75 feet (1,585 x 23 m) and 18/36 is 4,001 by 75 feet (1,220 x 23 m).
For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2021, the airport had 22,150 aircraft operations, an average of 61 per day: 99% general aviation and 1% air taxi. At that time there were 49 aircraft based at this airport: 45 single-engine, 2 multi-engine, 1 jet, and 1 helicopter.
History
The airport has served as a regional transportation hub for the Warsaw area, supporting both recreational flying and business travel. Its location provides convenient access to the city and surrounding communities.
