Warhol (crater)
Warhol is a relatively small impact crater located on Mercury. It is named after the American artist Andy Warhol, known for his contributions to the Pop Art movement.
The crater is situated in the Shakespeare quadrangle of Mercury. Its coordinates are approximately 24.75° N latitude and 173.5° W longitude. Warhol exhibits a somewhat irregular shape and is characterized by a smooth floor. Its diameter is approximately 85 kilometers.
Like many craters on Mercury, Warhol provides scientists with valuable insights into the planet's geological history and the impact processes that have shaped its surface over billions of years. Analysis of the crater's features, along with data from missions such as the MESSENGER spacecraft, helps researchers understand the age, composition, and evolution of Mercury's crust.
