Wanted (manga)
Wanted is a one-volume Japanese manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. Published in 1998, it is a collection of five short stories, all unrelated to each other and to One Piece, each exploring different themes and characters.
The manga consists of the following stories:
- Wanted!: A bounty hunter named Gill Bastar aims to capture a dangerous outlaw, with an unexpected twist.
- The Devil That Lives in the Pot: A story about a young cook who discovers a mysterious creature living in his cooking pot.
- Ikki Yako: A tale about a samurai-like figure with a unique fighting style.
- Monsters: This story features Ryuma, a samurai who would later become a zombie general in the Thriller Bark arc of One Piece. This is considered the predecessor to the One Piece character.
- Romance Dawn: This is a prototype version of One Piece, featuring a different Luffy with a more serious personality and a different explanation for his powers. This version differs significantly from the serialized One Piece.
While Wanted isn't directly connected to One Piece, it offers a glimpse into Oda's early work and the evolution of his storytelling and artistic style. It's often considered a valuable insight for fans interested in the origins of his most famous creation.
