Walter (bishop of Rochester)
Walter was a medieval Bishop of Rochester in England. He held the office from 1148 until his death in 1182. Little is definitively known about his early life or origins before his appointment to the bishopric. During his tenure, Walter oversaw the administration of the Diocese of Rochester and its associated properties. Historical records indicate that he participated in various ecclesiastical councils and synods of the time. His time as bishop coincided with the reign of King Henry II and the ongoing conflict between the king and Archbishop Thomas Becket, though specific details of Walter's involvement in this dispute remain scarce. He was succeeded by Waleran as Bishop of Rochester.
