Koungoba

Koungoba is a town and commune in the Cercle of Koutiala in the Sikasso Region of southern Mali. The commune covers an area of 282 square kilometers and includes five villages: Koungoba, N'Goutjina, M'Pessoba, Zanina, and Zansoni.

The local economy is primarily based on agriculture. Common crops include cotton, maize, sorghum, and millet. Livestock raising is also an important economic activity.

As part of Mali's administrative structure, Koungoba is governed by a local council elected by the residents of the commune. The council is responsible for local governance, infrastructure maintenance, and providing basic services to the population.

Koungoba, like other regions in Mali, faces challenges related to access to education, healthcare, and clean water. Development projects are ongoing to improve the living conditions and opportunities for the residents. Information on population figures and other specific demographic data should be verified from official Malian government sources for the most up-to-date information.
