Vaults (band)

Vaults are a British dark pop band formed in London in 2013. The band consists of lead vocalist Blythe Pepino, Barney Freeman (keyboards, production), and Ben Vella (drums, percussion).

Vaults gained initial attention through online platforms with their early tracks and remixes. Their music is characterized by its atmospheric soundscapes, incorporating elements of electronica, trip-hop, and dream pop alongside Pepino's distinctive vocals. They are known for their melancholic lyrics and emotionally resonant songwriting.

Their prominence increased after contributing the song "One Day I'll Fly Away," a Randy Crawford cover, to the 2014 John Lewis Christmas advert. This exposure significantly broadened their audience and helped establish them in the mainstream music scene.

Vaults released their debut album, Caught in Still Life, in 2016 through Virgin EMI Records. The album received generally positive reviews and further cemented their reputation for crafting sophisticated and evocative pop music.

Since their debut, Vaults have continued to release music, including EPs and singles, and have toured extensively. Their discography showcases a consistent evolution of their sound while retaining the core elements that define their signature style. They remain active in the music industry, exploring themes of love, loss, and introspection within their lyrical content and sonic arrangements.
