Two Dots (video game)
Two Dots is a puzzle video game developed by Betaworks’ Dots and published in 2014 as a sequel to the game Dots. The core gameplay involves connecting same-colored dots to clear them from a board.
Gameplay
The game presents a grid of colored dots, and players connect dots of the same color with vertical or horizontal lines to remove them. Forming a square with connected dots eliminates all dots of that color on the board. Levels have specific objectives, such as clearing a certain number of dots, dropping anchors to the bottom of the board, or containing fires. Levels introduce various obstacles and mechanics, including bombs, monsters, ice, lava, and movable objects.
Monetization
Two Dots utilizes a free-to-play model. Players start with a limited number of lives, which are depleted upon failing a level. Lives regenerate over time or can be purchased using in-app purchases. Boosters, which provide advantages during gameplay, can also be purchased.
Platforms
Two Dots is available on iOS and Android devices.
Reception
Two Dots has generally received positive reviews, praised for its minimalist design, addictive gameplay, and engaging level design. While its in-app purchases have been noted, they are generally considered less intrusive than in other free-to-play games.
Developer
Two Dots was developed by Dots, a studio acquired by Betaworks.
