Truro

Truro is a cathedral city and civil parish in Cornwall, England. It is Cornwall's only city and is its administrative, leisure and retail centre. Truro grew as an important trading centre due to its port and its proximity to the tin mining industry.

History

While there is evidence of Roman settlement in the area, Truro's significant growth began in the 12th century with the construction of Truro Castle by Richard de Luci.
