Triple X (professional wrestling)

Triple X (XXX) was a professional wrestling tag team in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA, now Impact Wrestling), consisting primarily of Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper. The team existed, with variations, from 2002 to 2006, and had brief reunions in later years.

Formation and Early Years (2002-2004):

Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper initially formed Triple X in 2002. Their gimmick centered around a rebellious, aggressive attitude and in-ring prowess. They quickly became known for their high-flying offense and innovative tag team maneuvers. Often managed by Vince Russo and later, Chris Sabin, they were a prominent part of TNA's early X Division scene.

Tag Team Successes:

Triple X achieved considerable success in TNA's tag team division, winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship on three occasions. Their feuds with teams such as America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris), The Disciples of Destruction (Harris Twins), and later, the reuniting AMW, were highlights of TNA programming during this period. Their matches were often characterized by hardcore elements and innovative spots.

Splits and Reunions:

The team went through several splits and reformations. In 2003, Elix Skipper briefly turned on Daniels, siding with Simon Diamond. However, they reunited, continuing their run as a dominant tag team. After losing a steel cage match to America's Most Wanted in 2004, where the losing team was forced to disband, Daniels was "fired" from TNA (in storyline), effectively ending Triple X.

Later Variations and Reunions:

Daniels later returned to TNA, and briefly reunited with Skipper. In 2006, Daniels formed a short-lived version of Triple X with Senshi (Low Ki) following Skipper's departure from TNA. Throughout the years, there have been sporadic reunions of the original Daniels and Skipper pairing on the independent circuit and in Impact Wrestling, often as a nostalgia act or for one-off matches.

Legacy:

Triple X is considered one of the most influential and innovative tag teams in TNA/Impact Wrestling history. They helped define the early years of the company and set a standard for high-energy, athletic tag team wrestling. Their matches remain fondly remembered by fans.
