Tommy Hughes (footballer, born 1947)

Tommy Hughes (born 21 April 1947) is an English former professional footballer. He primarily played as a defender.

Hughes began his career with Liverpool, joining the club as an amateur in 1962 and turning professional in 1964. He made his debut for Liverpool in 1967. While at Liverpool, he was part of the squad that won the league title in 1972–73 and the UEFA Cup in 1973.

In 1973, Hughes transferred to Coventry City where he spent several seasons. He went on to play for clubs including Walsall and Minnesota Kicks in the North American Soccer League (NASL) before retiring from professional football.
