Tom Neal
Tom Neal (January 28, 1914 – August 7, 1972) was an American actor best known for his roles in B movies, particularly crime dramas and film noirs. He gained initial success in the late 1930s and early 1940s, starring in films such as Between Two Women and HItler – Dead or Alive.
Neal's career was significantly affected by his volatile personal life, including a manslaughter conviction in 1965 for the shooting death of his third wife, Gale Bennett. He served six years in prison for the crime.
After his release, Neal attempted a comeback in film, notably appearing in Russ Meyer's The Seven Minutes (1971). However, he died a year later at the age of 58. While Neal appeared in a number of mainstream films, his reputation is largely tied to his troubled life and roles in lower-budget productions.
