Thomas Hele (died 1665)
Thomas Hele (died 1665) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1625 and 1660.
Hele was the son of Thomas Hele of Flete, Devon and his wife, Philippa Pollard, daughter of Sir Lewis Pollard of King's Nympton. He was admitted to the Middle Temple in November 1617.
In 1625, Hele was elected Member of Parliament for Plympton Erle. He was re-elected MP for Plympton Erle in 1626 and 1628. In April 1640, he was elected MP for Plympton Erle in the Short Parliament.
During the English Civil War, Hele appears to have sided with Parliament, though his role was not particularly prominent. He served on various committees.
In 1660, Hele was elected MP for Plympton Erle in the Convention Parliament.
Hele married Elize Stert, daughter of Arthur Stert of Stert. He was buried on 31 August 1665 at Holbeton. His son, Sir Samuel Hele, was created a baronet.
