The Swan (TV series)
The Swan was an American reality television program that aired for two seasons on Fox, from 2004 to 2004. The series documented women deemed "ugly ducklings" undergoing extensive plastic surgery and therapy to transform their appearance. Each week, two women competed against each other, and a panel of judges, including a surgeon, a therapist, and a fashion consultant, chose which woman had the most significant transformation. The winner of each week moved on to compete in a beauty pageant at the end of the season. The winner of the pageant was crowned "The Swan."
The show was controversial for its emphasis on physical appearance and the extreme measures taken to achieve it. It was criticized for potentially promoting unrealistic beauty standards and for the psychological impact it could have on the contestants. Despite the criticism, The Swan was a ratings success for Fox during its run.
