The Kier

The Kier is a rarely used or archaic term primarily associated with a large vat or vessel used in textile processing, specifically in the process of scouring or bleaching. The kier is a significant component of the industrial revolution era processes used to clean and prepare natural fibers like cotton, linen, and hemp for dyeing and manufacturing.
