The Catch (American TV series)

The Catch is an American drama television series that aired on ABC from March 24, 2016, to May 11, 2017. Created by Jennifer Schuur, Kate Atkinson, and Helen Gregory, the series was executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Allan Heinberg, and Julie Anne Robinson, among others, under the production banner of Shondaland.

The show centers on Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), a private investigator in Los Angeles who specializes in fraud investigations. Alice is known for her meticulous approach and ability to catch even the most skilled con artists. However, she becomes the victim of a long con orchestrated by her fiancé, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause), whose real name is Christopher Hall.

The series follows Alice as she attempts to track down Ben and uncover his true motives, all while continuing to run her successful investigation firm, Anderson Vaughan Investigations (AVI). As Alice delves deeper into Ben's world, she discovers a web of deception, international crime, and complex relationships.

Season one primarily focuses on Alice's pursuit of Ben and his associates, Margot Bishop (Sonya Walger) and Rhys Diaz (John Simm), who are part of a larger criminal enterprise. Throughout the season, the dynamic between Alice and Ben shifts from hunter and prey to a complicated mix of attraction, betrayal, and potentially, reconciliation.

Season two sees Alice and Ben on the same side, working together to take down a new, even more dangerous threat. They navigate their complicated past while trying to maintain their professional reputations and protect their loved ones. The season explores themes of trust, redemption, and the lengths people will go to for love.

The Catch was cancelled after two seasons.
