Terastia is a genus of moths in the family Crambidae. These moths are commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions. They are primarily known for being pod borers, meaning their larvae feed inside the pods of various leguminous plants.

The Terastia genus includes several species, with Terastia meticulosalis being one of the most studied and economically important. This particular species is a significant pest of coral trees (Erythrina species), which are often cultivated for ornamental purposes and agroforestry. The larvae bore into the seed pods and stems, causing significant damage and potentially killing the tree.

Characteristics of Terastia moths typically include a slender body, relatively long wings, and a coloration that can vary depending on the specific species. The adults are nocturnal and attracted to light.
