Tepin (horse)
Tepin, foaled in 1954, was an American Thoroughbred racehorse known for her speed and consistency. Bred by Arthur B. Hancock Jr. at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky, she was sired by War Jeep out of the mare Teopim.
Tepin’s racing career began in 1956 and extended through 1958. While she did not win any Grade 1 stakes races, she consistently placed in high-level competitions. Her notable performances included multiple wins and placings in allowance and handicap races throughout the United States, demonstrating versatility on various track surfaces.
Although not considered a top-tier champion, Tepin was a valuable racehorse and contributed to the American Thoroughbred racing scene during the mid-to-late 1950s. Her progeny were not particularly noteworthy, but she remains a footnote in racing history.
