Alexis Vega (Mexican footballer)

Alexis Vega (born November 25, 1997) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liga MX club Toluca and the Mexico national team.

Career

Vega began his professional career with Toluca, debuting in 2016. He established himself as a promising young talent, known for his dribbling skills, pace, and goal-scoring ability. In December 2018, he transferred to Chivas de Guadalajara.

During his time with Chivas, Vega became a key player for the team, often featuring as a creative force in the attack. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, his tenure was also marked by inconsistency and injuries. In January 2024, he returned to Toluca.

International Career

Vega has represented Mexico at various youth levels, including the U-20 and U-23 teams. He made his senior debut for the Mexico national team in 2019. He has since participated in major tournaments, including the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the FIFA World Cup. He was part of the Mexican squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
