Taxi (TV series)

Taxi is an American sitcom that originally aired on ABC from September 12, 1978, to June 15, 1982, and on NBC from September 30, 1982, to June 15, 1983. The series revolves around the everyday lives of a group of taxi drivers and their dispatcher working for the fictional Sunshine Cab Company in New York City.

The show was created by James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels, David Davis, and Ed Weinberger. It featured a large ensemble cast that included Judd Hirsch as Alex Rieger, Danny DeVito as Louie De Palma, Marilu Henner as Elaine Nardo, Tony Danza as Tony Banta, Andy Kaufman as Latka Gravas, Christopher Lloyd as Jim Ignatowski, and Jeff Conaway as Bobby Wheeler.

Taxi was known for its blend of humor and pathos, addressing serious social issues while maintaining a comedic tone.
