Tarō Kimura (politician)
Tarō Kimura (木村 太郎, Kimura Tarō, born July 20, 1965) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). He represents the 4th district of Aomori Prefecture.
Kimura is a graduate of Keio University with a degree in Law. Before entering politics, he worked at Fuji Television. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2003.
Throughout his political career, Kimura has served on various committees and held several parliamentary vice-ministerial positions. His political positions generally align with the conservative platform of the LDP, focusing on economic growth, national security, and constitutional revision. He is affiliated with the Seiwa Seisaku Kenkyūkai (commonly known as the Abe faction) within the LDP.
Kimura's policy interests include agriculture, regional development, and disaster prevention, reflecting the concerns of his constituents in Aomori. He has been involved in debates regarding agricultural reform and promoting the revitalization of rural areas.
He is the son of Mutsuo Kimura, also a prominent LDP politician who represented Aomori.
