Suspect (game show)
Suspect was a British television game show that aired on ITV from 1993 to 1995. The show revolved around a panel of celebrity contestants who had to determine which of a group of individuals was telling the truth about a particular scenario or experience. The panel would ask questions to the group of individuals, known as the "suspects," and based on their answers and demeanor, try to identify the genuine storyteller.
The format typically involved three suspects, one of whom was telling the truth, while the other two were fabricating their stories. The celebrity panel earned points for correctly identifying the truthful suspect. The show was known for its lighthearted and humorous tone, often focusing on anecdotes and personal stories. Notable hosts included Matthew Kelly and later, Dale Winton. The show relied heavily on the ability of the panelists to discern truth from deception based on observation and interrogation. The success of the celebrity panel depended on their ability to effectively analyze verbal and non-verbal cues exhibited by the suspects.
