Sunnyside (American TV series)

Sunnyside is an American single-camera sitcom that aired on NBC in 2019. Created by Kal Penn and Matt Murray, the series focused on Garrett Modi (played by Penn), a former New York City Councilman who finds purpose helping a diverse group of immigrants achieve their American dreams.

The show explored themes of immigration, identity, and community through humor and heart. The ensemble cast included Diana Maria Riva, Joel Kim Booster, Kiran Deol, Poppy Liu, Moses Storm, and Samba Schutte.

Sunnyside premiered on September 26, 2019, but was quickly pulled from NBC's primetime schedule after only four episodes aired due to low ratings. The remaining seven episodes were released on the NBC app and Hulu. The series was not renewed for a second season.
