Sudeley

Sudeley is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England. It is situated about two miles south-east of Winchcombe.

Sudeley is primarily known for Sudeley Castle, a notable Tudor castle that has been home to English royalty and nobility. The castle has played a significant role in English history, particularly during the reigns of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Katherine Parr, the sixth wife of Henry VIII, lived and died at Sudeley Castle and is buried in its chapel.

The village itself is small and characterized by Cotswold stone buildings. Its economy is largely based on tourism related to the castle and the surrounding Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Local amenities include a church, a pub, and limited shopping facilities.

The Sudeley parish church is dedicated to St. Mary and dates back to the 15th century, with some earlier Norman features. It contains monuments and memorials to the Chandos family, who were once lords of the manor.
