Steve Wagner (ice hockey)

Steve Wagner (born March 13, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the St. Louis Blues, Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Wagner was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round, 42nd overall, of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He played college hockey for Colgate University before turning professional.

Wagner spent several seasons moving between the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL). He was known for his physical play and willingness to block shots. After his time in the NHL, Wagner continued his professional career in Europe, playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and the Swiss National League A (NLA).
